Naomi Peterson is a product of Orange County Public schools and began playing music in the 5th grade. She has received Superior ratings on all solos and ensembles throughout her matriculation through middle and high school. She is a former member of the All County Band, the head drum major of her high school band and 1st chair musician in the concert, symphonic and jazz bands. She is an honors graduate of Jones High School and received an academic scholarship to Florida A&M University where she also graduated with honors.
At Florida A&M University Naomi was awarded the Dr. William P. Foster musicianship award, Best Overall Female Musician Award, and served as the universitys first female Band President and first female saxophone section leader. She participated in the concert, symphonic, marching and jazz bands.
Naomi holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and currently serves as a local middle school band director and private instructor. She has over 17 years of instrumental experience on the saxophone and enjoys instilling in young children the joy of music. She specializes in concert and jazz music for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. |
