Back into action recently, alto player from 1975 through 1984 Mason school system, Mason, OH. As a member of "The Band of Spirit", I have enjoyed many marching, concert band, ensemble contests, concerts, field shows, parades & solo competitions, as well as traveling experiences.
Some fun awards were earned in solo & group in those days. Scholarship was won in a contest at my high school to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan 1983. Performed at the Knoxville World's Fair 1982 which was also memorable with William Mason High School, Mason, OH.
Then a 25 year break from playing & entered into other unrelated work & a hobby interest in dogs. As a kid, I had a gold plated Conn student model. Today, I'm breakin' in a nickel plated Chinese Mendini alto by Cecilio.
After a series of serious neurological surgeries to my neck region of the spine in the 00's, I'm re-learning the alto again since 2009. Performing has begun with a few volunteer pep band performances & hopefully soon some orchestral concerts in Indianapolis. I have a lot of catching up to do, but will enjoy playing for friends, family & the public here & there. I am very appreciative to the inventor of the saxophone shoulder harness device. |
