I am a recording artist, live perfoming artist as well as a vocalist, songwriter and BMI-affiliated songwriter and publisher. I have played my saxophone for the State of California DGS (Department of General Services) as well as several times for the NBA Kings and AAA Pacific Coast Champion Sacramento Rivercats. I started playing clarinet in 1982 and learned alto saxophone in 1986, I returned to add on the tenor sax - which has become my primary instrument for rock, pop, soul, blues, jazz and funk. I am an evangelist for the versatility and human-like qualities of the saxophone, WAY beyond the commercial sound of Kenny G and the sleepy stuff you might think of as "saxophone music". Before the electric guitarist was the "rock star" - the sax-man was the one the girls threw themselves at -- and with good reason. The Saxophone family, along with the violin family, shares the most similar resonance to the human singing voice of ANY instrument!!! I play and entertain ALL walks of life: ages, race, beliefs, lifestyle. My horn is my "ice breaker" and peace maker. Through it I reach elderly in retirement homes on through babies still in their mothers' arms! No lie. Not the fanciest or most technical player, just the lady with soul.
